How do you get rid of big cockroaches coming inside at night?
Large cockroaches - Australian, American, Oriental and smoky-brown - don't breed in your kitchen; they live in drains, sub-floors, roof voids, mulch beds and bin areas and come inside at night. They're eliminated by treating the harbourage and entry routes: a residual barrier around the external perimeter and weep holes, dusting through the roof void and sub-floor, drain and pipe penetration treatment, then targeted internal work in kitchens, laundries and bathrooms.
01What you notice
It usually starts after a hot, wet week. You get up for water and there's a big reddish-brown cockroach on the kitchen floor, or one bolts down the shower drain. You spray it, you clean, and three nights later there's another one - because the one you killed was never living in your kitchen. It walked in.
02Why it keeps coming back
Australian, American, Oriental and smoky-brown cockroaches breed outdoors: stormwater pits and drains, the sub-floor, mulch beds and garden edging, bin and compost areas, sheds, pool pump housings and the roof void. Rain and heat push them up and in through weep holes, pipe penetrations under the sink and gaps beneath doors. A can of surface spray inside the house never reaches a single one of those places.
03How we solve it
So we work from the outside in. Confirm the species first - because if it's the small tan striped German cockroach breeding inside your cabinetry, that's a completely different job and it's handled under our German cockroach control service. Then a residual barrier around the full external envelope, eaves, weep holes and garden edges, dusting through the roof void and sub-floor where accessible, treatment of drains and pipe penetrations, and finally the internal harbourage in the kitchen, laundry and bathroom.
